Getting Started- Evaluating Your Organization

How to get started with ESBA and your businesses sustainability practices
  1. As a starting point, we encourage you to read our sustainable business scorecard to gauge where your business is succeeding and where there is room for further improvement.  The scorecard provides a general overview of the areas where an organization can focus to make their operations more sustainable and start saving money.  If you have needs specific to one of the scorecard categories, our Resources page should be able to help.
  2. Get a more comprehensive assessment of your company's total carbon footprint by using the Seattle Climate Partnership's Carbon Calculator for businesses.  This tool helps you calculate the cost and environmental impact of each of your emission streams, providing necessary information for strategically planning your next steps.
  3. Contact us today with specific questions about getting started with sustainability initiatives in your business, or register to begin participating in meetings and events.  ESBA's monthly meetings double as training seminars and networking events.  They are a great way to get to know each other and start the conversation about specific sustainability strategies.  As each business is different and solutions abound, getting to know you will help the community serve you better.
