What is the Challenge?
The Challenge is a friendly competition among local organizations and seven eastside cities that helps participants reduce the natural resources they consume and thereby lower costs, enhance their brand, and improve our environment.
Who can register?
Any private business, public agency, and non-profit organization with facilities located within the seven participating eastside cities - Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond, Renton, and Sammamish- is encouraged to register. Participants register each address separately if multiple locations exist (campuses will register once). The program is designed so that any business, small or large and from virtually any industry, is able to register and recognize the benefits of the program.
What are the benefits to my organization?
The year-long Challenge will ensure that your organization succeeds in realizing quantifiable improvements to economic and environmental performance while increasing customer recognition and satisfaction. By coordinating a framework for success with scorecards, tools, expert trainings, support, and high levels of recognition, this no-cost, low-barrier program is a win-win for businesses and community. A similar program launched by the city of Chicago saved businesses $5 million in aggregate and averted the emissions of 50,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide!
How does it work?
Getting involved with the Green Business Challenge is easy as:
1. Register Online - Benchmark Your Performance
2. Engage with Scorecard, Sponsors, and Sessions
3. Report Your Improvements
